A Reading from Romans 12: 14, 18-21

Taken from the January Magnificat:
Bless Those who persecute (you), bless and do not curse them. If possible, on our part, live at peace with all. Beloved, do not look for revenge but leave room for the wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." Rather, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head. Do not be conquered by evil but conquer evil with good. Romans 12: 14, 18-21

At Mass today, the second reading is taken from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians 12: 31-13; 13. This reading is the most popular choice for weddings! Here is one sentence from it - Love is patient, love is kind. Just think what a difference these words could make in our day if we practice them rather than just read them. What we give to others is truly what we get back. If we give hatred and condemnation, it is returned to us. If we give love and acceptance that will be returned to us.

For those of us who receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ this day, we will be nourished for the journey. And then it will be Jesus who lives in us. He will increase as we decrease! What is impossible for us, is possible for God. Through Him all things exist for good!

God bless!!
