The best life is an examined life. An old Greek philosopher once said "Know thyself!" It's as true today as it was then. At the end of the day we should look back on our life and see with truth and honesty, not self-righteousness or judgement, how we lived our day. Guilt and shame are to the soul what pain is to the body. They are warnings that there is something wrong. If we do not heed those warnings we can destroy our souls and bodies for all of eternity. Those who think there is nothing more than this life need only know that we are energy and even scientists know that energy cannot be destroyed, only changed. What we are to become is yet to be revealed.
